Hi friends. Pull up a chair, because this branding for Washington photographer Meghan Molinari is one for the books! Meghan describes her photography business as bold, creative, personal, engaging, fun, trustworthy, and powerful. For this custom project, we wanted to give her a brand that truly reflects these attributes. Location is always something to consider when creating a brand. For example, you wouldn’t necessarily use a bright color palette with bold edgy typography for a photographer who primarily shoots in the beautiful Washington forest. A photographer’s portfolio should always be the focal point. The brand story will merely complement and support all the beautiful images.
The serif we chose for this design has a friendly, modern feel. Pairing this with a rounded san serif brings a level of sophistication to the brand. A fun modern script sprinkled lightly throughout the brand brings in a little personality. In her questionnaire, Meghan mentioned her draw to bold strong clean lines. This was the inspiration we drew from in designing her monogram. The color palette for this Washington photographer is bold but soft and comfortable.
When designing stationery, we do our best to push the boundaries to create something truly unique. By combining a horizontal front with a vertical back, you can create a more memorable experience that draws others into your business card. A nice gold foil printed at MOO will add a lovely, sophisticated touch. In terms of stationery, simple can go a long way. Adding a brand mark or unique typography with your brand colors is really all you need.
