This brand concept for California portrait photographer Maggie Mae combines modern luxury with an inviting personality. Located in southern California, Maggie is a portrait photographer who specializes in beauty, headshots, seniors, families, couples, and boudoir. She recently opened a stunning studio space where she will create an unforgettable experience for her clients. Our goal for this brand was to achieve a certain level of sophistication all the while remaining fun and approachable.
Her contemporary style and service-focused approach make her stand out amongst her competitors. A modern san serif incorporated with a hand-drawn script make this brand truly unique. The sharpness of the san serif brings a clean contemporary style into play.
The primary logo stands strong alone, as well as accompanied by other brand elements. When creating a full brand concept, we always keep in mind what platforms it will be displayed on. For example, a more horizontal logo, such as the one above works great on a website. Alternate logos (as shown below) provide a way to add more information such as when your business was established, or what type of photography you shoot.
Maggie’s style could be described as classic glam with a touch of charm. Carefully thought out; the colors in this brand are strong, yet soft. The silver accent is played out in the collateral design for this photographer, which you will see later on in the post. Our goal is to design brands for clients that complement their work, not distract from it. For example, the marble texture is great to use occasionally. So, we added it to some collateral as well as the website.
When you incorporate a hand-drawn script with a strong san serif typeface, true magic happens. Nails modern approachability right on! And, not to mention the lovely script incorporated with a strong san serif made for a beautiful, classic monogram mark. The classic glam of this brand **shines through (quite literally) with these silver foil business cards. If clients desire some type of metal gradient, we always recommend true foil. This brings a certain wow-factor and professionalism to any brand.
We like to choose collateral pieces that serve many purposes. Rubber stamps not only serve as a helpful tool for photographers, but it is also a great way to add an inviting hand touched quality. This will draw clients in and make them feel important and thought of. An alternate logo found a great place on her photo studio window display in a well-traveled California area. Silver foil printed on a matte black paper bag adds a touch of modern luxury to client product orders.
It is important for experience-driven businesses such as studio or senior photographers to immerse their potential clients into a fun, informative experience. In order to do this for a photographer like Maggie who shoots so many different genres, the website design must be clean and easy to navigate. The brand we created is supportive without being a distraction and the website is the showcase to display all of Maggie’s beautiful work. Go take a peek at her site today!
